PHARMAMIN-M Promotes Ripening, Improves Fruit Coloring, Taste and Aroma
PHARMAMIN-M promotes the ripening process and improves fruit coloring. Because of its high purity and immediate uptake, PHARMAMIN-M rebalances the normal physiological processes in the plant cell and stimulates the natural mechanisms involved in ripening. It improves fruit coloring by supplying anthocyanins and flavonoids biosynthesis precursors (coloring pigments). PHARMAMIN-M, which also improves taste and aroma, shows its performance best on fruits that require coloring before hitting the market (i.e., table grapes and strawberries).
PHARMAMIN-M contains a specific complex of free amino acids produced, one by one, during a fermentation process, explains Mrs. Maria Rosaria Stile, Ph.D., K-Adriatica Research and Development Manager. “This is unlike fertilizer amino acids. Amino acids produced during fermentation are only L-type amino acids, Plants uptake and metabolize only L-type amino acids.”
Fermentation-derived amino acids have higher U.S. Pharmacopeia standards for amino acids’ identity, strength, purity and quality, and are also used in medicine, dietary supplements, and food production and processing. “In addition to their key role as protein building blocks, amino acids are fundamental in plants’ key metabolic pathways. We have selected the ones that are more involved in the ripening processes", explains Mrs. Stile.
PHARMAMIN-M Leads to Color and Quality Improvement
“Many factors influence fruit coloring, including variety/rootstock, temperature, light, nutrients, water stress, viruses and phytohormones, and some can’t even be measured. From a nutritional standpoint, PHARMAMIN-M performs as a ripening inducer by triggering those processes that lead to color and quality improvement,” explains Mrs. Maria Rosaria Stile, Ph.D., Research and Development Manager for K-Adriatica.

PHARMAMIN-M Has Been a Mainstay for More Than Two Decades
PHARMAMIN-M has been a mainstay in K-Adriatica’s product line for more than two decades and is as relevant as ever, especially considering that the steady rise in temperature due to climate change makes the goal of uniform and intense fruit coloring even harder to reach, says Maria Rosaria Stile, Ph.D., Research and Development Manager for K-Adriatica, which originated in Verona, Italy, at the end of the 1960s.
Why PHARMAMIN-M Is Preferred
Favors uniform coloring
Positively impacts fruit sugar content
Directly addresses key nutritional plant disorders
